Joni LeRoy graciously donated several items for the Hunt through the

Library, such as golden eggs, pencils & treat bags to hand out.

Michelle Davis advised that she had went through the Walmart Store and

found the bikes she wanted to purchase for the Easter Egg Hunt. They were Huffy bikes, one 12” girl’s bike and one 12” boy’s bike; one 16” girl’s bike, and one 16” boy’s bike; one 20” girl’s bike & one 20” boy’s bike.

Mary Agnes Simons to purchase the bikes and pick them up & place in

Township Garage. Michelle asked everyone to report for the hunt at

12:45 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, March 28th, 2010.

8). UPDATED ON BUDGET FOR PARKS & REC FYE: 03-31-2011:

Discussion on the arborvitaes trees costs of purchase of trees, digging them up, hauling them to the park and re-installing them around three sides the pavilion. Estimate of $48 per tree, plus the cost of renting the tree spade to perform this work.

Mary Agnes Simons advised that she had about another hour’s worth of work to prepare the budget to be submitted to the Twp Board for this year’s budget. She will e-mail everyone a copy for review before she submits the final draft to the Supervisor for his budget. The Supervisor

has requested a “wish list” to complete the rest of the park. This will also

be attached to the budget request as well.

9). UPDATE ON COTTRELLVILLE TOWNSHIP’S PARKS & REC MASTER PLAN:

Simons reported that the Township Board did authorize the Supervisor to enter into the agreement & to have Birchler begin the master plan for the Parks & Recreation Plan for Cottrellville Twp. Simons will advise when an

10). UPDATE ON THE RIVER FRONT PARK PURCHASE:

Simons advised the Supervisor & she had met with the Real Estate Broker

and the property owner with a list of our requests & ideas for the property

in question. It was decided that the agent would forward us a “letter of intent” describing the discussion and to accept our offer with the conditions, which include getting this idea on the August Primary Voting Ballot for a vote of the residents.

11). ROUND TABLE:

Simons advised that she has two proposals for fencing around the basketball court, one for 4 ft tall and one for 6 ft tall fencing. It was decided that 8 ft tall fencing still would not be tall enough, and general consensus was to ask them to rebid one more time, at 10 ft tall fencing around the entire basketball court.

It was also requested that we find (2) soccer aluminum goal posts, new net, and two flags for under $5,000. This was to be added into the “wish list” for the Budget request.

It was also noted that we would require “marking” equipment for the fields, ice rink set up for next year, grading & dozing of the imported fill dirt, placing the topsoil back over the raised field, seed, fertilize and mulch the disturbed areas, as well as fertilizing the rest of the park & trees on the berms. It was also requested that the new budget have a line item for

asphalt paving the walking path around the park.

The most important thing that the Committee would like to have installed this year, is the electrical for the existing pavilion and the future pavilion & pitching machine.

Stefano Casadei advised that he believed the Marine City Little League will be using our ballfield as a practice field all that it can. Simons advised that she heard from a team from Palms School who contacted her in February about an “under 10 yr olds” team. She is supposed to call us

back around the end of March for setting up exact dates & times. Her name is Robin Lyszczyk. As soon as we hear from her, then we can set

up any other teams who want to play on our ball field but we have promised her the field first because she called first.

Simons advised that she will put the scheduled playing times for the ball field on a calendar so we can see what is available and what is left. Once

we have that nailed down, we should probably post it in the display case in

the park and furnish a copy to Stefano Casadei for his timing for checking out the park for maintenance items.

12). ADJOURNMENT: With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:50 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Mary Agnes Simons, Chairperson
