TREASURER’S REPORT:
Vickie Perreman passed out her latest report for month ending 3-31-09, showing a balance of $19,771.01. We haven’t heard what the budget figure was set for next year, however Simons believed it to be approximately $60,000. Vickie has a phone call into Supervisor Raymond for the exact figure. Vickie reported she has reservations set aside in the amount of $230 thus far. She reported the Township Board confirmed the size of the group for the Baker-Cartwright/Montague party and the Beauvias party for Park Rental.
OPENING & CLOSING OF PARK GATE:
Vickie Perreman requested that we send a letter to the Aures for closing the gate for the Park and asked if he would continue this summer too.
Terhune requested that we send a letter to Mrs. Courtney, Township Treasurer, for her opening the Park every morning during the week for last year. Mrs. Pfaff, Township Clerk, will see the gate is open every morning on her way to the office, for this summer.
REPORT ON THE EASTER EGG HUNT, SUNDAY 3-29-09:
Davis advised that there were 112 children who attended the Easter Egg Hunt, from
what goodie bags that were left over. Seventy-seven children were signed up by phone
reservation. Though the weather was cold and breezy, everyone appeared to have great
fun. As far as suggestions, the only suggestion made was when serving the donut holes
next year, if the party is indoors, don’t get any powdered sugar coated donuts.
Michelle Davis advised the bike giveaway really made this a great event. Vickie Perreman advised she had taken pictures of the bike winners and e-mailed them to the
Voice Newspaper for publication naming each child.

Simons will take care of sending a letter to the Voice thanking Craig Vermette, VG’s
Market Store Manager, for the donation of Apple Juice and assorted donut holes and Easter Bunny antics by Bill Shreeve for their contribution to the successful Easter Egg Hunt.
SPRING FLING DISCUSSION:
The date for the Spring Fling was set for Sunday, May 17th, with the Perennial Flower
Exchange being orchestrated by Sue Terhune. People can bring in their perennials
and take home an exact same number of someone else’s perennials for their
garden. Sue has several varieties in her nursery on the west end of the park.
Michelle Davis advised that she spoke with the Rec Director in Richmond and was
advised that they have this “Kids’ Sidewalk Sale” along the streets of town
so the children can sell their extra toys and treasures to other kids.
Michelle suggested that we take reservations for renting a 10 ft by 10 ft area
and to line them up along the walking path of the park on the grassy area. She
requested we ask for a $10 deposit when they are registered and return $5 when
they show up to set up for the sale. This way they have their first $5 to spend
among the other kids to start. Simons will get a receipt book and keep the checks
separate, any checks will be made out to cash, then the money will be divided into
$5 bills so the refunds can be made on the day of the sale.
It was agreed to take reservations until Friday, May 15th, & all committee members
should meet at the Twp Park by 11:00 a.m. to set up for the Kids’ Sidewalk Sale at noon and operate until 3:00 p.m.
Simons will contact Jeri Packer from the Voice and see is she can put this event into
the Calendar of Events of the newspaper, and perhaps do a short article about it.
10. ROUND TABLE DISCUSSION:
Sue Terhune will order the baseball field home plate and pitcher’s mound plate in time for
the date scheduled by Stefano Casadei & Bill Shreeve & Wes Simons to work on
setting them in the special clay stored in the garage. Simons reported that Supervisor
Raymond attempted to get the County Community Service Workers to work in the
Park for sprucing up the grounds and perennials. He has tried for over a week, and
they haven’t returned his calls.
Simons will place the order for the trash cans, cigarette butt disposal containers,
fifteen signs, all for around $3,000, including the purchasing of the home plate &
pitcher’s mound plate that Sue is obtaining. No Playground Mulch or Baker Racks
will be purchased at this time.
11. ADJOURNMENT: With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:02 p.m.
Respectfully submitted by,
Mary Agnes Simons, Chairperson
